The Department of Defence Standard and Evaluation (DDSE) is responsible for monitoring and evaluating activities of the DHQ. It develops policies, procedures, and criteria for standards and evaluations. It also advises the CDS on the state of operational readiness of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. It is headed by the chief of Defence Standards and Evaluation.
