Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi was born on 4 November 1948 at Lafia in Dekina, Kogi Started. He stated his cadet training in 1968 and was commissioned on 20 December 1970. He attended various military courses during his career, including the Midshipman Course in UK, the Naval Staff Course at the United States Naval War College, Work Up Training for newly built ships in France and the United States Naval War College. He held various staff and command appointments during his career before being appointed Chief of Defence Staff on 29 May 1999. He retired voluntarily on 2nd June 2003. He enjoys playing soccer, table tennis and golf.
