General Domkat Bali was born on 27 February 1940 in Langtang, Plateau State. He started his cadet training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK on 21 April 1961. He was commissioned as Second Lieutenant on 12 December 1963. He attended the Command and Staff College, Camberley, UK, Long Gunnery Staff Field Officer’s Course and the Defence Management Course. During his career, he was the General Officer Commanding 1 Infantry Division and 4 Infantry Division.
He was also the Commandant of the Command and Staff College, Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Defence. General D Bali was a member of the Supreme Military Council from 1984-1985 and a member of the Armed Forces Ruling Council from 1985- 1990. He retired voluntarily from the army on 10 January 1990 and still enjoys keeping fit.
