PICTORIAL NEWS: 2020 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY CELEBRATION PARADE HELD TODAY 15 JANUARY AT THE NATIONAL MEMORAL ARCADE, ABUJA

President Muhammadu Buhari laid wreath alongside Vice President Professor Yemi Osibanjo, Representative of Senate President,  Speaker Honour of Representatives, Honourable Yemi Gbajabiamila, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko, and the Honourable Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir  Magashi (Rtd).

Others were the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur buratai, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Eteh Ekwe Ibas, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Baba Abubakar and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps, represented  by the Cameronian Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb Salaheddine Abbas Ibrahima, National Chairman Nigerian Legion, Brigadier General Jones Akpa (Rtd), the Representative of the Widows, Mrs. Helen Polycarp,  wife of late Captain David Nimrod who paid the supreme price in the fight against insurgency also laid wreaths. The ceremony which was equally graced by other top government functionaries, members of the Diplomatic Corps as well as senior military and paramilitary officers is an annual event  in honour of the nation’s fallen heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice for our corporate existence.
